Between The Devil And The Badge
Fiction by Timothy Snodgrass and Larry Ray Hardin
Based on actual events. Even though, in real life, the crimes committed by the Mexican brothers and their Cartel soldiers operating on the Southwest United States borders of Mexico, Arizona, and California never received justice, the corruption at the Port-of-Entry at the Southwest borders, and some politicians protected the brothers, moving large quantities of drugs into the U.S.
After Boone arrived in Yuma, he quickly learned from informants who the good guys were in the law enforcement community who could help identify the corrupt officials. Corrupt officials had strong connections with family members at the Port of Entry.
Throughout the next five years, the U.S. federal judicial prosecutions protected the brothers in Mexico and their criminal connections to some of our federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies operating in Arizona. The judicial procedure of “Due Process” made it challenging to get arrest warrants for the brothers. He could not bring the Mexican brothers to justice in the U.S. for their crimes of trafficking weapons, dope, women, children, attempted murder of two DEA agents, kidnapping, and other criminal activities.
